2 ohms before I cleaned and reattached them. None of the ground connections looked exessively dirty, nor did any of them indicate more than about. Under the hood: Battery negative to upper wheel-well (2 ground wires), rear right engine lift loop to chassis (1 ground wire)Ĭar interior: behind passenger side kick panel below fuel cutout switch (2 ground connections), passenger side interior of rocker panel within a foot of the kick panel (2 ground connections), beneath the right side of the rear seat where the Fuel Pump Driver Module is located (1 ground connection), beneath the drivers side kick panel (1 ground connection) I cleaned the following ground connections I also have no scan tool so I have no idea how to verify the Fuel Pump Driver Module short of just replacing it on suspicion. 5 minutes after tow truck leaves, the car starts and continues to start on every attempt.īecause the fuel pump had already been replaced per fuel pump warranty extension I decided to check electrical before learning how to remove/replace the fuel pump. Paid $90 to give car a ride home courtesy of tow truck. The third time, went straight to checking for power to the cutoff switch and found power present but no start. The car started and continued to start for 2 days. Then found no indication of power coming to the cutout switch so swapped out the fuel pump relay. The second time, tried the fuel cutout switch but still no fuel pump. Pressing the fuel cutout switch was not the issue. The first time, after waiting for 2 hours for the tow truck, we pressed the fuel cutout switch a couple times and then the car started. Recently one of 2 2001 Foci in the household was exhibiting an intermittent problem where every 2 days the fuel pump did not pressurize when rolling the ignition key to run.
